David Hockney Inspired Collage
David Hockney was born on July 9, 1937 in Bradford, United Kingdom. David works in Los Angeles and is a painter, photographer, and is involved in printmaking. These two photos imitate his style because when he takes a photo and is known for putting picture over picture as if it is a puzzle. When he is finished it looks like one picture that is partially dismembered, but still looks like one photo. To create these photos I just put one photo as the base and then added other photos of the same object on top of the one photo. I would resize them big and small to make them fit and connect to the main photo as much as I could.
Magazine Cover
I used this Magazine because, it was the only magazine that had a title I could use that blended with the back ground of the studio photo. What I did to emulate the magazine was use different types of fonts, colors and bolds. I used different types of fonts, but stuck with the colors blue, read, and white so it wouldn't look totally out of place and messy. There wasn't really any certain type of set up or a certain way I made the photograph. A strobe light is a light that made regular flashes of light. I would use it to get a bright, but nice lighting for a photo. A modeling light is a light source located in proximity in a flashcube. It is used to give a photographer a visual sense of the lighting effect. A soft box is a photographic lighting device. It is used to create an even and diffused light. A reflector reflects light, on the object of the photo. A grey card is a card with different shades of grey that shows if the exposure is correct. A radio trigger system sends a signal for the strobe light to go off.
Del Mar Fair
I took this photograph using my iPhone at Disneyland California Adventure in Cars Land, which is why I titled this photo On Route 66 because, that is what highway Cars Land is in the movie. What I enjoyed most about this photo is how the back ground is blacked out and the colors of the buildings pop out at you. Which is also why this photo falls perfectly under the category of color, the colors is what catches your attention with how vibrant and neon they look.

Composite Photograph
To create this photo I used photoshop and first worked on getting the girl in the glass ball. I used the photo of the girl in the field and put it over the photo with the glass ball in the sand. I layered the photo of the girl and used the paintbrush took to erase everything, but her. Then i positioned her and put her in the middle of the glass. After I finished I merged the two photos together to create a brand new one that looked like a girl trapped in a bubble. Once the new photo was created I brought in the photo of the sand and ocean and placed the new photo over the ocean photo. I made a layer for the new photo and once again used the paintbrush tool to erase everything, but the glass bubble. After the surroundings of the glass bubble were gone I put the glass in the middle of the sand to make it look like it was sitting on top of the sand and merged everything together to create another new photo of a girl in a glass ball at the beach. After that was finished i brought in the picture of wet rocks and placed that photo in the left bottom corned of the brand new photo. i created another layer of the wet rocks and repeated the process of the paintbrush tool, erasing everything but the rocks, the best that I could. Once I finished with that set of rocks I used another pictures of rocks and flipped it horizonatally so it could fit in the bottom right corner of the photo. For one last time I created a layer and used the paintbrush to erase everything but that set of rocks. After all the rocks look as natural as I could make them look I merged everything together to create my final photo.
"I hate myself" by Clickfortaz (via Youtube): "I hate myself. I hate my face. My body. The enviorment I am in. I am filled with so much hate, I don't even know what to do with it. I see pictures in magazines and when I look back at myself, I no longer like what I see. You see, they don't show you the stretch marks, split ends, and gap teeth. They don't represent people like you and me. The irony that are forced out messages to just be yourself by celebrities, when they know full well that they are partially to blame for all of our insecurities. Since day on we've been told to say this and do that and if i wear this then a guy might just like me. Running my confidence to the ground. I can't even hold a conversation without saying the word sorry, like fifth-teen gazillion times. To say i'm apologizing for just being me. Some days I stay awake at night and the silence is so loud, it overwhelms me. I can't sleep or eat. Filled with so much negativity, the negativity became me. But I lie and carry on smiling because, that is the person I want to be. So happy, and joyful and carefree. People say just be confident. They don't understand that you get tired, you get weak. I just need you to understand that I am filled with self hate and it consumes me. Because i wasn't taught to be proud of myself and love who i am. No, I was taught that there were expectations and limitations. And fought for every can't to be a can. So filled with hate, I suffocate. This is my fate. I tell myself as I try to pick myself up, but it's too late. I don't want compliments or attention from passes by. I crave real love, not likes from a social networking website. And then you start to create this self image that is so perfect and flawless and happy cause that's what you think is right. Wrong. See, you can't fill a void with lies. You can't solve pain with short highs, so you result in late night cries. And you wonder why. Sigh. For the longest time I would blame my environment, the media, my peers and it took me years to see it's not you. It's me. If I want to change how i feel, I have to start from within, look into my soul, what's beneath the skin, cause the solution isn't external don't you see? You can't solve your problems from what you see on your phone screen, The answer comes from who you are deep inside, all those thoughts and feelings you tried so desperately to hide. I am capable of so much more and I don't need to hear that from you because i know it from me. When you open your mind you start to see things clearly. Your ambitions, your potential, your dreams. They become free. So for the first time in a long time, i'm just gonna let myself breathe. Today i choose me."

Mandala's
Mandala means a shape that can be fit into a certain pattern. What I did to create a mandala was start with the circle template that is made of triangles with the points of the triangles meeting in the middle and the bottoms curving to make the curving sides of the circle. I cropped a certain part of my photos that could make a unique pattern in the shape of one of the triangles using the magic wand in photoshop and dragged it over into one of the triangles, making sure it fits in perfectly. Then I duplicated that photo and moved that one into the next triangle, making sure it fit perfectly in the triangle. I repeated these actions until half of the circle was completed. I merged that side together and duplicated it to fit the side that is not completed and merged the rest together to complete the photo. I didn't really like doing this, but if i had to pick my favorite one out of the ones I made I would pick my green and white X one. What I struggled with most is fitting and rotating the photos into the triangles to match up together.
Tessellation's
Tessellation means shapes that match together to create a pattern that match perfectly together with no spaces and doesn't overlap. When creating my tessallation I first picked out a specific part of my photo that could make a unique pattern and cropped it out. Then I dragged it to another white page on photoshop that has certain size squares lined up on it. I put the part of the photo into the square and made sure it fit as perfect as possible. After I duplicated that square and moved it into the next square. I flipped it horizontally and vertically until it matched and connected to the first square. I repeated those actions until all squares and made a complete new pattern. I wasn't a big fan on making these, but if I had to pick my favorite out of the ones I made I would have to pick the final photo of the green photo with small little leaves. What I struggled with the most is making the squares a certain size.
Portraiture
What I learned about taking portraits from going to the duck pond is how lighting and angels can affect the way the model will look in the photo. To decide on the poses we were given a sheet of paper with examples of what we could do, I let her pick which ones she wanted to do and it was partially helpful since we didn't have to take the time to think of our own poses to do. A gold reflector was used for most of the photos taken and it was absolutely helpful to get her skin to have a golden and bright look. To retouch three of the photos I used photoshop and outlined what I wanted to be retouched, which was the face, and I blurred the sectioned part to make the face look smooth. After I zoomed onto her eyes, eyebrows, and lips to get rid of the blur so she doesn't look so edited.
Education for All
Name Project
To create my name project I first cropped my photos to make the letters more visible and changed the filter to black and white. Then I got the four photo templet from the class folder and dragged it into photoshop so I could use it. I dragged each of the four photos and cropped resized them to fit into the four frames. All the steps were clear to me and finding letters around the area was easy enough to do. I am proud of figuring out all the steps quickly and I am proud of the objects to spell out my name. I think for I could improve on being more creative taking the photos, I could have found more creative things to spell each letter.

Layer Masks
I can not exactly see what I will be in ten years, I don't have an exact career I would like to pursue. As of now, all I really know is that I would like a career that involves helping. Growing up i have always enjoyed animals and love to be around them. My favorite types of animals are wild animals, being a zoologist has always been a possibility of what i would like to do. So in this photo I tried to photoshop my face on a women taking care of a tiger since zoology is the study of animals and you can also take care of the sick and injured ones.
In this photograph I attempted to photoshop my face onto a fans face who is posing for a picture with Becky G. I enjoy her a few of her songs and decided to choose her as my celebrity photograph.

Super Moon
To photograph the moon:
1. Use a tripod! A flat surface will only allow you to shoot straight, and shooting the moon means that you'll be shooting up and constantly re-adjusting the tripod as the moon moves throughout the night.
2. Use a shutter release cord, remote or the camera's self timer if you don't have one, so that you don't move the camera when pressing the shutter release during a long exposure.
3. Use a zoom lens and zoom in as much as you can to the moon. It's okay if it's not a super fancy lens, this was shot using a 15 year old $100 lens. Focus in on the craters and details on the moon.
4. ISO 1250- 1600, so that you can use as fast a shutter speed as you can without losing detail-the longer the shutter speed, the more chances you have the camera will shake even slightly in the wind, resulting in an out of focus photograph.
5. Aperture priority of f/5.6 since you are not worried about capturing any details other then the moon.
6. Bracket your exposure, meaning over expose and underexpose the photograph from what the camera is telling you. Generally the camera will overexpose the moon, so you'll get nothing but a white blob in the sky. Use the exposure compensation button (the +/- button below the shutter release) and change the exposure to -0.5, then -1.0, then -1.5 and so on, until you start seeing detail in the moon. You may go as far as -5.0 exposure compensation to get what you need.
7. Take a fair amount of photos and keep refocusing as the night progresses. The photographs may look focused on the camera's display, but you won't really see if they're completely in focus until you upload them onto your computer screen.

Fast Shutter Speed
1: The camera's ISO was set to 1600 and the shutter speed was set to 1/1500, when the action was in process I tried to take as many pictures to get the perfect moment.
2: I wasn't able to get the perfect picture of certain actions, such as the cards being thrown, but I began to hold to button down to get more than one picture and be able to get the picture in the process.
3: I learned how close and clear the shutter speed can make an object. I also learned how fast it works and how great it freezes a moving object.
4: Fast shutter speed could be used on any moving object or person.

Respect Yourself
To have self-respect, you need to care about yourself, put you and your happiness first in life. Many people rely on other things for happiness and never realize that it is a toxic happiness. Society is all about being the same now, it is as if some people think doing what everyone else is doing will make them happy, even if it means drugs and drinking, as long as they are apart of the crowd. No one is actually happy doing what others want to do, self-happiness is doing what you love for yourself.

Light Painting
I took these photos on a tripod in a dark room, using manual focus. My partner in the photo used the Mylightpainting app and moved the phone in random motions or spelled out words, such as RBV. We tried to use glow sticks, but the light didn't show up as well as it did with the app. When taking a light painting photo, be sure the light is bright enough to be seen or the picture won't come out very well. Shutter speed is also crucial in taking the photo, it extends the picture that lets you take it while the light is moving.
SHUTTER SPEED
When I changed the shutter speed while taking pictures of the class jumping I went to menu, then I went to shutter speed and moved the dial on the camera until it got to the shutter speed I needed. What happened when I took the picture is the camera took snapped the picture freezing the students in whatever position they were in. The situations shutter speed would be used is anything that involves an action shot. If someone is playing a sport, riding a bike, or jumping in the air shutter speed would be used.
~ Shutter Speeds are both a technical and aesthetic choice a photographer needs to make before releasing the shutter.
~ The shutter inside your camera controls the duration of time the sensor is exposed to light.
~ Capturing blur or motion in your photograph can emphasize movement and add drama
~ A fast shutter speed is often utilize to freeze the movement of a subject.
~ A slower shutter speed can be used to show motion and visualize movement.
~ Shutter speeds are expressed as seconds or fractions of seconds
~ A general rule to prevent unintentional camera shake you should avoid handholding your digital camera at shutter speeds slower than 2x focal length.
~ Using a tripod can help eliminate camera shake when using a slower shutter speed.
~ The visual blur and suggestion of movement occurs because the subject is moving against a static background.
~ Layering motion of different directions at different speeds can set up interesting dynamics within a photograph.
~ Fast shutter speeds can make normal subjects appear to freeze in the air.
~ When photographing people running relatively close to the camera a shutter speed of 1/1000 second or faster should
~ The distance the subject is from the camera, the speed of the subject, and the focal length of the lens will affect wether the subject is sharp or blurred.
~ Slower shutter speeds can help convey the idea of motion and movement.
~ Slow shutter speeds combined with the planning can help isolate the subject from a busty and distracting background.
~ A tripod combined with a long exposure can capture the fireworks’ trails.
~ Water movement can be emphasize with long exposures.
Cyanotype
Cyanotype was created by John Herschel in 1842.
The chemicals used are potassium ferricyanide and ammonium iron.
I placed my negative image on a paper with potassium ferricyanide on it then left it in the sun for five minutes. After the five minutes were over I removed my negative image off the paper and put the paper in water with hydrogen proxide which made the image a dark blue.

Beary Lost
Once upon a time there was a young cub sitting against a tree with his mother. His mother soon fell asleep leaving him bored and alone so he got up and decided to explore around where his mother was sleeping. When he was walking around he was distracted by a butterfly and followed it, losing his mother in the process.
After a while the butterfly flew too high and he noticed that he didn’t know where he exactly was. He began to walk down the way he thought he came from, but soon realized he had lost his way to his mother. Scared, the young bear ran around calling out for his mother, but had no luck finding her.
After running around for a while he began to feel tired and sees a nice, shady tree to rest under. Once he got closer he saw a lion sleeping on the foot of the tree trunk. Scared, thinking the lion would eat him if she were to wake up, he began to back up quietly into the tall grass.
While backing into the grass his back feet stepped on a stick making a loud crack, which woke up the sleeping lion. She gets closer to the cub and notices the fear in his eyes. Feeling pity for the cub the lion asked where his mother was, the cub answers saying that he had lost her. The kind lion decides to help him find his mother.
After a few hours the kind lion was able to get the cub back to his mother. When the mother sees the lion she fears that the lion will do something, but is soon reassured that the lion was just there to return the cub. The mother thanks the lion and leaves with the baby cub happy that they were reunited.
Aperture Priority
In each of the three pictures one box began to be focused. When the aperture was set to f/1.8 the front box was focused and the other two behind it were blurry. When it was set to f/8 the two front boxes were focused and the last box was slightly blurred. When it was at f/16 all three boxes were in focus.
Digital Camera Basics
DSLR
~ What DSLR stands for: Digital Single Lens Reflex
~ DSLR is a digital camera that uses mirrors to direct light from the lens to the veiw finder
EXPOSURE
~ Exposure is the amount of light collected by sensor in camera during a single picture
~ Photograph will wash out if shot is exposed too long
~ Shot will appear dark if exposed too short
~ Almost all cameras today have a light meter
~ Three controls for exposure: aperture, shutter speed, and ISO
~ Before taking a picture consider: aperture, shutter speed, ISO
APERTURE
~ Aperture: a hole within a lens that light travels through in the body of camera
~ In photography, aperture is expressed in f`numbers (example: f/5.6) Known as f-stops
~ Larger aperture means smaller aperture/ small aperture means large aperture
~ Large aperture soften background
~ Depth of field (DOF) is the distance to which objects behind and in front of the focal point appear to be in focus
~ Small aperture brings both the main subject and background into focus
SHUTTER SPEED
~ Also known as exposure time, stands for length the camera is exposed to light
~ If shutter speed if fast it can help freeze an action completely
~ If shutter speed is slow it can create a motion blur
~ Shutter speeds are typically measured in fraction s of a second, when they are under a second
~ For example ¼ means a quarter of a second, while 1/150 means one two-hundred-and-fiftieth of a second or four milliseconds
~ Slowest speed of hand held photograph is 1/60. Anything lower should be on a tripod or a straight solid surface
~ Any slower handheld shutter speed begins to get motion blur and your photograph may be out of focus
ISO
~ The level of sensitivity of your camera to light
~ The lower the ISO number, the less sensitive it is to the light, while a higher ISO number increases it
~ The component within your camera that can change sensitivity is called image sensor or sensor
~ Increased sensitivity, your camera sensor can capture images in low light with no flash.
~ Bright and sunny: 100 ISO/Cloudy: 250 ISO/Indoors: 500 ISO/Nighttime without a flash, 1600 ISO
